Soa Chorn and Moa Morn

Soa Chorn and Moa Morn both have AIDS. They are the parents of Eam Chanthy and Touch Chanta.  They were prepared to give up their children to an orphanage to give them a better life.

The Cambodian Government is increasingly concerned that this is a widespread practice. Families are being broken up because parents want a better life for their children. They see giving up their children to orphanages as the only way of enabling them to escape poverty and get a future.  The Government is encouraging all NGOs  to find ways to support children within their family framework rather than see families separated. This is the foundation of the New Beginnings initiative.
